Rethinking recreation in Monroe County Parks

The Challenge:

Learning about recreation opportunities
at Monroe County Parks is confusing
and difficult. Improve the way information is distributed and reach a younger audience with the information. 

The Outcome:

An updated brand that captures all groups of people that visit parks, and a digital recreation experience that motivates young people to be active in Monroe County Parks.

Celebrate recreation, education, zoology, horticulture, geography and history to inspire the community.

Photography is an important part of the brand:
There are four specific photography styles that help improve the brand identity. 

The primary photography style is a whimsical style that shows empty parks and hints at civilization. This allows people seeing the photos to imagine themselves in these parks and think about tthemselves in these spaces.

The secondary photography style is all about patterns. These are close ups of the natural patterns that occur as well as unnnatural patterns that can be made with nature.

The third style of photography are photos that look up within nature. These hint back to the whimsical feel but create uplifting emotions in viewers.

When photographing people do so in a way that their faces are not directly in the shot or not as easy to see so that the person viewing the photo is imagining themselves in that place at the time.

To compliment the photography there are a set of patterned simple line icons that can be used digitally or overlayed with photography.
